Hello again! It's been a while. This time around, Mrs.Halsey asked us to blog about the STEM concepts in our games and how we address them. Shall we begin?
Our game assesses the basic concept of computer usage, just like the rest. This is one purpose in all of the games made via the Globaloria course. They prove to be an opportunity to teach all ages some key actions.
ie: mouse movement/selection or clicking/etc.
This could be very helpful for way younger audiences or elder audiences as well.
The next topic our team tackles is mathematics. This is done simply by our scoring system. For every correct action the player completes, an amount of points are bestowed to their overall total. Addition! And; in contrast, if something is done wrong, points shall be deducted. Subtraction!

Now. The main thing our game teaches is the facts of animal cruelty and other random animal facts! I'm supposing that would fall under the category of 'Biology' since that is the study of life, and animals are infact alive! (: It's hard to get the points of animal cruelty across because most people haven't been exposed to the statistics, which can be shocking. It's a real eye-opener and we hope to tackle that. (;
Thanks for listening!
Great post Madii. I would not have thought of most of that. Your group appears to be doing very well. How goes the game and are you having as much trouble as us?
ReplyDeleteThanks (:
ReplyDeleteThe game is going well. We're working on getting each of the screens to work individually, and then putting them all together. Wokring out all of the bugs. Trouble? Yes; sirr. What great acoomplishment comes now without toil? haha; (: I sounded like quite the philosopher right there, eh? Hope you guys get everything worked out, as do I hope we do the same!
Nyeee...I thought this was supposed to be about our biggest problem with things? I'm confused.
