That's a good question; and like I've proved in my other blog posts, everything has its pros and cons. If we do, in fact, regain our position as a world leader in those fields; we will once again prove dominance of a higher seat in the global community. Which, is a good thing in some aspects, to some people. But dominance can always be submissive to those whom are power hungry. And the hunger for power can never be good. But, if it's not TOO big of a "top seat" then, yes. I think it would be good for our economy and population to be glbal leaders in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. Supreme understanding of these four subjects will allow for our country to prosper, along with the knowledge and job security of our nation's people.

Stem 6.

What type of STEM-related inventions and/or discoveries would you like to make or support in your lifetime?

There was actually one listed in the suggestions that I agreed with. That would be virtual schooling; although, it has its pros and cons. Of course, it would be easily convenient and allow for more information to be obtained in smaller portions of time; but. It leaves out one of the most important experiences of childhood, and young adulthood: the school experience. The friends, the occurences. It allows for little pieces of lives to develop that wouldn't happen in any other place or way. So; as a result, maybe a BIT of virtual schooling. and a BIT of actual school? There's an appropriate balance for everything.

STEM 5.

"How has Globaloria inspired you in considering STEM-related careers?"

First off, Globaloria has definitely give me a great introduction to working with Flash, as it has done for all of the students who participated in the program. Not only does having a great basic understanding of Flash allow me to work with these flash games, but its use is limitless. It can range anywhere from assisting me in web design, to animations. Either way; this opened a door for me when it comes to careers. I have always had the want for a creative-outlet career in design. Preferably Graphic and Fashion Design. With the attempt for a degree in Graphic Design, I will need certain skills; and Globaloria has definitely started me on most of those. Page design; flash; and even illustration. It's given me a pre-taste of some of the things I'll need to work on during my haul for a design career, and it's made me realize that I definitely can accomplish it, if I really put my all into it. This would definitely have to be the first. I do, in fact, believe that STEM serves as a great guideline for educational purposes. It includes 4 main aspects that are important skills in today's modernized world. Of course, I've had science classes, computer classes, etc. These things embrace PARTS of STEM, but not STEM as a whole. Combining all of these things as one goal is a great idea, and really allows for the student to become more prepared for certain career fields of interest.

I wish I could elaborate more on using STEM in other instances, but like I said. To get a job working with a Fashion Magazine. This would require technology skills since I plan to get a double major in Fashion and Graphic Design and maybe some minor classes in Photography at some random point in my life. I would be working with computers, the internet, and design programs daily. It'll take time and determination to rise to where I want to be in that industry, but I'm dead-set on getting there. It's one of my life goals. (:

But, if I wasn't completely sure that was what I wanted to do with my life; there would be some other things I would consider. Such as being an Art Director for a game developing company. This is another career that would definitely take some time to achieve. Yet again, this would involve working with technology; using computers to help design and structure environments and even characters for the game/s in question.

Another job I would consider would be something involving Web Design. If you've noticed, all of the jobs I've picked thus far have some sort of creative outlet. I need that in a career. Of course, in web design, I would also be using computers and design programs.

(:

Important Inventions, in my opinion. [that kind of rhymed, right?]

Here we are, once again! This time around, I'm required to do a blog concerning important inventions of today's world. Everyday we go about our business without really noticing the smaller things that do a lot for us. It's really important to give some recognition to these everyday wonders. So, In my opinion, what are some crazy important inventions?

I would have to say the Internet is one. How generic! I know. But it's true. I would die without my online community. D': If I left that one out of there, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself. And not only is the internet important for purposes such as social networking... >_> *cough cough*, BUT it's also super important for one thing we all need access toooo! KNOWLEDGE. Oh, the internet and its infinte trenches of wisdom. This is the one place [cyber-space >>] that you can run to and find everything you need to know ever. and more! (; Although, be aware that humans are full of error and humans typically run the web. So before you perceive something as fact, dig in deeper and do your research! Biased information can be misleading, make sure to get the legit basics and truth. (:

Hmmm. The next one I would have to mention would be the battery. Instantly, I get a flashback to all of those duracell commericals. The ones that make you feel the truley epic power of a battery? Yeah. Well; it might not be that action packed, but those little packages of energy and power make most of the world go 'round. They assist anything from rescue teams, to hospitals. They're a true necessity in today's world.

The last invention I'll go with is webcams and video calls. With these, people can experience a face-to-face meeting without being in person. Family can contact their relatives in the services, and kids can say hello to their families at home while away at college. It gives you a bit of familiarity when you're missing someone, even though you could be miles apart. And that means a lot. It's a great way to keep in touch with that special someone.

And that's not even the top of the barrell. There are tons of great inventions in today's modern world that we utilize. They're all around us. Just take a look. (:

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mfmpwnshxc.blogspot.com/2010/04/important-inventions-in-my-opinion-that.html' title='Important Inventions, in my opinion. It's been a while. This time around, Mrs.Halsey asked us to blog about the STEM concepts in our games and how we address them. Shall we begin?

Our game assesses the basic concept of computer usage, just like the rest. This is one purpose in all of the games made via the Globaloria course. They prove to be an opportunity to teach all ages some key actions.
ie: mouse movement/selection or clicking/etc.
This could be very helpful for way younger audiences or elder audiences as well.

The next topic our team tackles is mathematics. This is done simply by our scoring system. For every correct action the player completes, an amount of points are bestowed to their overall total. Addition! And; in contrast, if something is done wrong, points shall be deducted. Subtraction!

Now. The main thing our game teaches is the facts of animal cruelty and other random animal facts! I'm supposing that would fall under the category of 'Biology' since that is the study of life, and animals are infact alive! (: It's hard to get the points of animal cruelty across because most people haven't been exposed to the statistics, which can be shocking. It's a real eye-opener and we hope to tackle that. Which is simply adding a numerical score box to our game screen. We used the field rescue screen as our example on the wiki.
For every bad item you click on, you get 25 points for cleaning it up and realizing it is a hazard to the dog's health.
The only thing left to add to this is the fact that after you click on an item; it's still available for clicking. So you can gain 3478x the 25 points that you should be able to learn. We'll be working more on this throughout the month; and we'll have it all cleared up by presentation time! [Thank you so much Zack! (:] It's a really cute 40-second loopable N64 8-bit-ish tune. We plan on maybe adding different music later on throughout the game.
Zack sent me the file; and I e-mailed it to myself here at school. So, one of the development topics we attempted was the preloader. Our preloader is a graphic of a medical surrenge filling with pale blue liquid. The more liquid in the surrenge; the greater the percntage loaded.
Well; that was the game plan. The preloader codes ended up being horribly difficult to manage in cooperation with our screen we had previously drawn. We worked with it and worked with it; and the problem was:
That the liquid's height wouldn't expand in the needle's cylinder. We tried both height and width; and neither worked.
So: in conclusion; we decided to "jip" the screen to actually make it a non-controlled motion tween. It doesn't show how much is loaded; but it serves the visual purpose of preloader. So after fixing that; we wanted to make them actually move downward; to create that rain effect.
this is where the "scrolling background" game development topic came into play. Celia got the rain moving; but it would end after a set amount of time. She needed to somehow loop the rain and get it to maintain constant flow. This took us to a couple read-throughs, a video we watched together, and a tutorial; and also extra links to other tutorials.
The read-throughs were helpful; but the video was really good. It explained a bit about actionscripting and looping; and how movement and sound are looped seperately.
The tutorial we did involved us downloading a mini-game entitled "GoRabbitGo!". In the game, you moved a rabbit charcter with the spacebar and went around a garden eating carrots and onion/turnip thingies. The antagonist of the game was a turtle that if you ran into; you had to start over. The tutorial asked us to go in and edit the actionscripting for the game. Doing this didn't really change anything about the game, but it edited the way comments were stored inactive in the coding, by changing "//" to "*/". Very simple stuff; no big deal. But a helpful hint, alas!

here is a link to said tutorial:
LINK.

also; here is another tutorial I found to be worth the while:
LINKx2.

ENJOY! :D

actionscripting! :D

SO.
Before we had the massive 8 snow days in a row; we did some action scripting tutorials. They were fairly easy, so I'll just give you a brief overview of the two.
The first tutorial required us to download a mini game file. The mini game consisted of an underwater scene and a diver; the goal was to avoid the sealife coming towards you. The turoial asked us to open the actinscripting panel for the game, and adjust the number of enemis to make it easier; all it required was typing a smaller number in the correct line of code.
The second also required a download of a mini gam file; but, this one was of a pond scene and a frog. The goal of the game was to try and catch flies with your tongue. The tutotial asked us to open the actinscript panel, yet again, for the game. The detection of the flies with the tongue was supposed to be extended; therefore making it easier to catch flies. This also involved a simple changing of a number on the correct line of code.
Like I said before, extremely simple stuff. It's all about knowing where t put the code and what line to alter it on to change it the way that you want. Presentation rolled around for the end of the first 6 weeks. Each team was required to make a power point on their game and how it was coming along, then show the actual game thus far. This happened all this past week; on each day up until Thursday, which was our turn.

For our power point, we set the background as a crimpled up piece of paper, and had our font look as if it was "scribbled" or "sketched" onto the page. The powerpoint's looks was our strongpoint! We did each of our slides on the following: Team Introduction, Game Introduction, Target Audience, Game Play, Fun Factor, Smart Factor, Style Factor, Originality Factor, Game Development, Reflections. For our team intro, I put a picture of each of us with our names. For game intro, simply a screen shot of our Title Page in our game, and a short desription. Target Audience included a picture of a family, and some text explaining that our game can be for any age. Game Play showed our Example Screen explaining the concept of Point and Click. Fun Factor was what about our games made them fun. Smart Factor explained how the trivia and facts in our game was educational. Style was about how our colors are really bright, and the cartoon-ish art makes everything POP. Originality was how we used our own team members as charcters in our game. Development went through the process of us drawing our game, assembling it, animating it, then adding a bit of actionscript. Reflections basically reminded us how much we procrastinate, and how that getting "motivated" was really our biggest problemm....

Next we showed the unfinished version of our game. This was our weak point, because we didn't have it up already and we had to wait for it to load, etc. So preparation was our big thing, really. And that definately showed on the reviews. After we got it up it went well, everything worked the way it was supposed to, and we finished it out. (:

John-O videoed the whole thing, while I talked, and Celia worked the slides and files. Teamwork FTW! It also asks whether this class has helped prepare us for it, and in what ways. Well; it seems like I've been asked the first question a million times. And, everytime I have the same answer.

I want to go into the fashion industry. It's a big goal to tackle, but I'm determined. My dream job in the industry would have to be being part of a high-end magazine, such as Nylon, Bazaar, Vogue, etc. An even bigger dream, turst me, I know. I want to do fashon spreads, pick out the outfits, talk about why I picked them out, put my own pages together. It's definately something I'm willing to devote my life to try and do. I realize that I'm not going to start out doing this, and that I'll definately end up having to climb the job ladder, but that's something I'm excited to do. Atleast I'll gain experience along the way, which can help me later in life.

So, what education is needed for a job like that one? Art and Design school. I plan on applying to SCAD in Georgia or The AI Institure in Pittsburgh, and if those fall through, then maybe Raleigh, NC. I want to try and get a double major in Fashion and Graphic Design, with maybe some Photography classes, for job security.

This class has helped prepeare me in some ways for my aspiring fututre career. The computer and web usage has helped some, but I think that the Flash program has helped the most. It familiarized me with the layout of using creative deisgn tools. [flash! lololol] Soooooo. yuhh.

-fin-

assemblyzz.

After finishing drawing up all of our game scenes, and adding the animation and the sound,we're beginning to piece them together, one by one, into the same file. Where we've been off from school for three week, and now we're in a computer lab wihtout flash, we can't really make any more progress on it until Friday (when we go back to our olod lab!) But, for now; I'll tell you how were going to accomplish it.
So, the timeline on your file when you open it in flash contains your frames and tween and keyframes and all of that good stuff. To put one screen after another, you simply copy and paste the timeline. We have quite a few screens, so obviously the timeline is going to be extremo long. Then, after combining them all, we'll upload them to our wiki pages, and the team page for you all to view! and when we have it up, i'll post a link here. until then.

^__^

SOUND!

Okay, so.. this is a bit overdue. But, I have to make it up for having a zerooo for not doing it. :D Let's begin.Umm; the adding sound topic was about adding noises/music to a flash file, and making a stop and play button for a sound.

On the first part, I just took a file I had already made and drag and dropped a sound I downloaded onto the stage. The file I made was pretty random... two egg-shpaed characters chasing one another, one made to look vicious and blood-thirsty, and the other scared out of it's little mindd. :D baha; So, the noise that I added was a horrifying man scream which seemed to match quite well. (: After I had finished that much I added some flashing subliminal messages at the end. If you can't see it yourself, the messages include cheesey government slurs. "Anthrax" "Eat Your Siblings" "George Bush"... The usual. ;D

The next part with the stop and play buttons didn't require much. The buttons were supposed to be green and red and labeled "Stop" and "Go". I decided to put a spin on it and make the play button a flower, and the stop button the word "Stop" in green in the bottom right. The sound I added was actually one of my favorite songs. ("Change" by The Young Veins") Yummy bubbles of noise! :D

So, yeah. Both of these files are uploaded to my prjects page, Here! (: Be aware that as SOON as you get on that page; the screaming starts. :D and there's not a stop button for that one. ENJOY!

animation.

Remember those game scenes we drew up? well; now we're making them move! we've added animation to part of them, but we still have a load to do. But so far, we've accomplished making animating quite alot. My favorite one would have to be drawn by celia and animated by celia (with some of my help!) It's our happy ending scene, with the chinchilla charcter. It features a loving home, with moving clouds, and a little chinchilla jumping up and down! So cute. Enjoy:

Ms. Garmina Navie.

Okay, so I realize the title is very random, and kind of has nothing to do with this, but. I want to apologize for that ahead of time. Ignore my monotone vibe, and we'll get through this together. okay?
So, we're 12 weeks into this, and we're still going. It's been quite a journey, but we're not even halfway done yet. For this blog assignment, Mrs. Halsey asked us a couple questions. Since, I'm not in the mood for seasoned blogging, I'll do it survey-style. Yes, I'll try to ellaborate as much as my emotional unstability allows. A little bit of the ol' Q & A never hurt anyone.

Q: "What has been the thing you've liked the most?"
A: Umm, I would have to say actually drawing in flash. In my free time, I'll listen to some music and just draw what the music makes me feel, even if it means just writing the lyrics using calligraphy. It's a good stess reliever, and it also serves as practice for the mini-game.

Q: "What has been the thing you've liked the least?"
A: The time limit, honestly. We have a full hour and a half in here, but I enjoy the class so much, that it doesn't even feel like 10 minutes. And, because of this, my other classes (Advanced Chemistry/ Pre-Calc & Trig/ English) seem to drag on forever. This is really what I look forward to in the school day, so you can understand why I wish it would last longer than it does.

Q: "Do you like the grading system?"
A: I don't really have any problems with it. If you do what you're supposed to, you get a good grade. Who could argue with that?

Q: "How would you change the class?"
A: Like I said, time limit, time limit.

Q: "Would you recommend a friend to take this class? Why or why not?"
A: Well; my friends don't typically enjoy the same things I do. I mean, they appreciate me liking the things I do, but they don't like them. Anyway, what I'm getting at, is the friends who I would recommend this class to are already in here. And the ones who aren't in here, wouldn't like it.

Q: "Which assignment did you have the most fun with? Link your answer."
A: The paper prototyping would have to be my all time favorite thus far. Why wouldn't it be? There's a narwhale involved! ^_- !LINK!

frustration, aggitation, and no cooperation.

So, today, yesterday, and the day before we've been stuck in another lab. This lab is without flash, so that's just great. This is obviously creating a stall in our game projects. Mrs. Halsey is not so happy about this, and neither are we. But we put up with it, as always. The nerdy kids once again get the boot-end of everything, even when it comes to their own domain, the cpu lab. ahhh, well.

Accepting our defeat, we had a free day, and then yesterday we went outside and had a class photoshoot. Thisssss was so much funnnn. Aaron, Celia, Jamie, Heath, Mrs. Halsey, and myself took all of the shots. John did some free-running stuff and everyone else kind of just acted silly. There were some epic leap frog shots, and then some not-so-epic jumping through shrubery shots. (Thank you, David ;) All of them are really interesting to look at, though. And it gives you a better idea of the personality of our class! Shoot me in the face. You'd be doing me a favor. Let me explain, we were assigned the "Planning Your Game" topic in our class. My group, well; we're a bit behind. All of the time. Always. Some of us are easily distracted, hahaha. So of course, this was a huge task for us? *sigh* The whole team page is supposed to be finished, and I'm the only one in our group who has even done a single edit to it, I think. So far, I've written out every bit of the design plan by myself. And, I suppose I'll do the timeline by myself as well.
On the team page I did a team introduction, including mine, Celia's, and John's photo. Then, I did the game Introduction. Where I explained our targeted audience, learning factor, originality factor, etc. Then, the paper prototyping video is listed beneath that. Then, the Design Plan. I'm not finished with this yet, but so far, I have 5 scenes completed on my own. When I do finish, I'll move onto the timeline, and list that below the design plan.
Our roles are supposed to be as follows: Celia: content developer/writer, content expert/client, and information architect. Me: graphic (visual) designer, programmer, and producer. John: project manager and end user.
So, all of this is extremely tiring and monotonous for me. It makes me very very very aggravated. Please, do not let my work be in vain, and visit this link. It'll be greatly appreciated, trust me. I'm not mad at anyone, I just think my whole group needs to stick together more. That's all. I love you guys, and you know it. ;D

In other news, I had dental surgery on Friday. So, my mouth hurts. ): Also, I bought a new book and two new pairs of tights. (navy/light purple) And a new cardigan. I'm planning on being a kitty instead of a mad hatter for halloween. The only get up I could find that wasn't prostitute-ish. -__- I sat up a Flickr account, hoping to turn a new leaf on my photography. I want to get started doing expressional portraits of others, I have sooo many ideas rushing through my skull. (: Also, my new Harper's Bazaar magazine came in recently, and none of the photoshoots stood out to me. :/ My birthday is in 6 days! Almost 16. (: My party is in 5. I'm thinking about not making it dress-up, but just doing a bonfire type deal. fun, fun, fun! ;D Also, I've been eating the best brocolli soup evarrrr! TY grandma, you rock. ;D

Love, Peace, and Worked On Teeth.

Madii Out.

Paper Prototyping.

So we finished the first group project, finally. "Paper Prototyping" was the deal. Basically, what we had to do was draw our game, screen by screen. The art style of our game kind of took a less serious, pop-art-y, cartoony feel. Which, kind of matches the vibe of the game. When we go to actually make the game, we'll throw some poppy electro music in there and make it all blend nicely. Instead of actually shading, I kind of got a bit crazy with streaking everything. To save time, and because I like the way it looks. But I'll admit, it got a bit out of hand. haha; So Celia and John kept saying. We did a run through of the game on the perspective of you choosing the dog to save. If we would have done cat and bird as well, it would have taken quite a bit of forever. The ending page featuring afro narwhale will not be included in our actual game, that was added to our paper prototyping strictly for our own amusement. So, so. After we finished drawing everything up, we put it all in order, and filmed it. Just like you would see if it was an actual flash file. I present to you now the video of it all! Enjoy it thoroughly, for it consumed much of our time. (:

As for my life, everything has been getting insanely better. Although, I've found myself in a bit of an inspirational rut. I should go outside more...hmm. Anywho! I would like to share a quote with everyone. "To be great is to be misunderstood." -Ralph Waldo Emerson. Ponder on that, and get back at me. Also, I need more flannel in my life. I'll have to fix that.

Love, peace, and a puzzle piece.

Madii Out.

The Epic Failz.

So, kiddos. Here lately in class we have been practicing our flash skills by following the instructions on the 'Mini Game Project' page of the lhswiki. This involved us working with creating symbols, movie clips, frames, and actionscripting. We ended up creating a mini game involving a rabbit and a carrot. You are supposed to use your keyboard to control the rabbit to catch and eat the carrot, which will give you a point each time. There's no set amount of points before you win, you kind of just keep going. Anywho, it was fun to put the whole little thing together.
Soon after all of that jazz, we began grouping. There are three of us in the group, and are as follows: Me (obviously the one in red tights.), Celia (apparently the one with the F+), and John (awkwardly the on falling through mid-air by the slight of my shoe). We unite to make *epic superhero team voice* THE EPIC FAILZ! *theme music* "duhhh-nuuhhhhh. duh-nuh-nuh-nuuuuuhhhh-nuh. duh-nuh-nuh-nuhhhh-nuh. duh-nuh-nuh-nuhhh."....*cough cough* uhhh. Righttt. I'm sorry about that I had a moment. But, that moment gave you a brief preview of our awesome-ness. So I hope you enjoyed that. We took a group picture which is awesome, as you can clearly see. bahaha. I trip John on a usual basis. But, he's a ninja, so he lands on his hands...and knees....The point is that he DOESN'T land on his face.

So, after all the commercial stuff was out of the way, we actual started on our game. We decided for our newly adopted concept to be animal cruelty. The game is called "West Virginia Animal Rescue Squad". In the game, we will be reviewing important statistics animals saved each year, etc. The game will go through the process of having three different animals to save (cat, dog, bird). You'll find them, save them, cure their problems, and find them loving new homes. You'll be taught how to properly take care of your pets. The characters in the game are John and I (rescue workers), and Celia (the nurse) ! sooo. More to come on that laterrr.

As I always do, here is an update on my life. I bought a leopard print fedora, John is holding a grudge against me, and I stil do not own a copy of the RHPS. -__-

Love, Peace, and Canadian Police.

Madii Out.

The Concept.

The time has come for us to pick a topic for our game. It took me a while to brainstorm, because (believe it or not) I hadn't crossed my mind yet. Celia did one on animal cruelty, while JC did his on anti-smoking. Both great topics that fit the personality of the people creating them. So I sat and I thought, what would match my vibe, and send a good message out? I even asked Mrs.Halsey what she thought. And, of course, the theme "fashion" came to us both. So I ellaborated. And this is what I came up with in the end:

I realized "oh, yeah. the negative effect of models' body images on our society!" Well...okay. so it wasn't that immediate and movie scene epiphany-like. It kind of took a bit longer to come to me, but it was about the same, I suppose. haha; Anywho. My message to deliver is that the perfect 5'7" and 108 lb. body structure of a super model isn't necessarily perfect for everyone. We are all unique, and that means our bodies are, too. While the ideal weight for someone may be 100 lbs., for someone else it may be 135 lbs. Also, the faces and makeup of these models is NOT as perfect as it seems! Not only do the models have access to highly trained makeup and lighting artists, who can make the face seem as if it's contours are flawless, the videos and pictures go through many photoshop processes to make them seem the way they do. They are FAKE, No one should feel pressured to look like those models, and no one should look at those models as the beholders of a perfect body.

This pressure is what I believe to be a major factor in causing eating disorders and depression. Girls (and boys alike!) feel they are 'ugly' or 'imperfect' when they compare themselves to these models. They then feel they must strive for that body image. In doing so, they develop eating disorders, because it seems the only way for them to loose that weight. Why is it the only way? Because it is unnatural for their body to look like that. Not everyone is supposed to look the same! Then they get into the habit of not feeling good, skinny, or beautiul enough. This is where the depression comes in.

So! To the overall meaning of this post, my flash game. It will relay the message that we are all beautiful in our own way, and that we should not conform to the body images of the models of the fashion world. They're not there for us to become droned duplicates of. They are canvases for the art of fashion, and that art is for us to admire and become inspired by. NOT to mass produce it. Just like a beautiful painting. Let it inspire your mind, don't copy it.

In other news, no one has yet to buy me the Rocky Horror Picture Show. *sigh* I see how it is. Also! ODST is now among us. I'm sure many, many boys and girls out there are enjoying the violence. I know I would be, if I hadn't spent all of my money on Left 4 Dead 2 for my boyfriend...*sigh*x2. I'll stick to Halo 3 for now, until I can get a hold on someone's copy. ^_-

Love, Peace, and Golden Geese.

Madii Out.

The Test

Okay! Today in class we tested out some other kids' games from the Globaloria program. A lot of the concepts were pretty entertainig, not to mention well related. So, allow me to mention a couple that I tested, and my opinions on them.

The first game I tried out was entitled "Kute Little Aliens". Okay, I love games that have 50/50 chances on whether you live or not. I find it sarcastically humorous. Anyway, the game is good up until the point where the aliens get "new homes" to move into. The game freezes...or it ends on that screen? I'm not sure. It's kind of abrupt, and I feel it could have been carried out further if it is supposed to be the ending. If not, then it's obviously just a glitch. Although, I loved the concept, and overall feel of the game. Decent game. (:

The next game I came across was "Teenage Pregnancy". You're right, you're right. It's not funny, but I couldn't help but notice that the board character looked slightly like a brunette early-age Brittney Spears? ahh, not the best character to use. Anywho! The message was good. A lot of teenage girls don't know a lot of those facts that are shared in the game. The cause is a good one. Kudos for making a difference!

Finally, I came to "Go Rabbit Go!". I loved holding the spacebar and making the bunny breakdance! Try it out, honestly! No, I love this. It reminds me of centipede slightly? Anyhow, good job. It took me a minute to get the portal concept, but when I did, I started getting really good at it.

So, those are the three games I looked into. Hope my insight was entertaining. haha;

(OH! and I saw the original Rocky Horror Picture Show at Walmart for like...12 bucks. Someone in my class should buy it for me. I don't care who. ANYONE....pleaseee?}

*cough cough* erm...anyway.

Love, Peace, and Chicken Grease.

Madii Out.

for real this time.

Okay, no more games. I'm acually going to talk a bit this time. Globaloria is this program we're all participating in, obviously. Which, I think is absolutely great. The first computer class I've been in that I actually enjoy. The round about of Globaloria is that it's established by The Worldwide Workshop Foundation, and it's helping today's youth become more familiar with computers, technology, and the online community. It helps develop their skills in coding, communication, and creativity.

The students in our classroom seem to be really responding to everything. We've had compliments already on what a bright class we are, and how fast we're catching on. I really appreciate those, and I'm sure everyone else does as well. It's exciting to be getting recognition so early in the program. My classmates and I are conjuring up some really great ideas for our wikis, blogs, and flash games. I can't wait to actually get everything started and see what comes of it all.

As for myself, I'm already loving this class. Every normal day, I would go home and recode my social networking profiles, and take and edit some new pictures. Now I can incorporate some of the things I have fun doing in my spare time into school. Globaloria has given me a chance to learn more about graphic design and coding. I love furthering my knowledge of these things because it relates to what I want to do later in life. I plan on going to art school, either in GA, PA, or NY, and getting a double major in Fashion/Graphic Design and a possible minor in Photography. All things I love, of course. It's my dream to be able to work at a high name fashion magazine, such as Nylon, Harper's Bazaar, or maybe even Vogue. I want to be able to wake up every morning and actually be excited for work, unlike a lot of people I know. Getting background information on the basics of the industry is going to help in the long run, and I feel as if this class is an awesome start.

So there it is. The beginning. Follow my journey through the trials and tribulations of *drumroll* The Globaloria Program! I promise I'll make it as epic as I possibly can.

Madii Out.

9/9/09

hullo, deary. my name's madii. i can tell we're going to be great friends.
